BACKGROUND
Lara began her studies in Eastern healing practices specifically yoga,
mindfulness and meditation in 1999. In 2001 she graduated from Columbia
University where she received dual Masters degrees in Psychological
Counseling.
In 2005, after struggling from anxiety
and various physical ailments caused by chronic stress and a sugar
addiction, Lara began to deepen her studies in several mind body healing
modalities. Two primary practices, Somatic Experiencing® and
Integrative Restoration® have lead Lara to experience a level of peace,
equanimity and health greater than she ever imagined. She has healed
herself from many dis-eases in the body and mind such as Epstein Barr,
autoimmune diseases, digestive disorders, and generalized anxiety.
Lara uses these modalities and complements them with her studies in
Emotional Freedom Technique, Bodywork, Aromatherapy, Landmark Education
and Yoga Therapy. She now works as a certified Integrative Yoga
Therapist helping clients understand the correlation between dis-ease
and nutrition, thought patterns, emotions, stress, and unresolved
childhood wounds. She specializes is stress management, trauma, anxiety
and depression. She is an active member of the International Association
of Yoga Therapists.
